From 5th October to 10th October, 2PM - 4PM, NYP AI will host it's very first AI summer camp. This camp aims to accelerate students learning on AI through an integration of hands-on activities as well as theory . This year, we will be hosting this event for our very own School: School of Information Technology.
This 6 day long camp consists of 4 days of learning and 2 days of competitions. From learning to predict Housing Price Prediction to Spam Detection, our participants will be proficient enough to build models for their own projects at the end of this camp.

Content Covered

Day 1: Participants will be introduced to the foundations of AI and how to do AI projects with python. Participants will utilize Google Colab, an online python notebook, for our practical sessions.

Day 2: Can your computer tell whether an image is a cat or a dog? Participants will take their skills to the next level, implementing an image classification algorithm that can classify weather images into 1 out of 4 different categories.

Day 3: The quality of our Data is arguably the most important factor in Machine Learning. Unfortunately, Data will not be perfect in the real world.
This session will teach participants some methods to deal with faulty real world data.

Day 4: Ever struggled to understand your partner's text? Well with what you'll learn on day 4, your computer would be able to assist you with that!
Participants will learn about Natural Language Processing and how to use it to create a text classification algorithm.

Competition Details

To end off the Summer Camp, we will have a 2 day competition where participants will use AI to deal with real-world problems: Spam Detection. Participants will use the knowledge they acquired from the past 3 days to face this problem statement.
